About Becky...

Besides a writer, Bible study teacher, and Christian speaker, Becky is a school teacher who teaches classes in English, Creative Writing, and Bible at the local high school. For her work with the students in the community, she was honored as the 2005 Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year, the 2008 VFW Teacher of the Year, and the 2009 Bellville Lion’s Club Citizen of the Year.

Becky has served as core leader and prayer chairman for Community Bible Study, taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School and facilitated Bible studies in her home. She has also taught and written women’s summer Bible studies, including The Dignity of Who We Are in Christ Jesus, Searching the Scriptures for a Glimpse of Heaven and the Wonder of it all, Ragged and Rejected, and Shipwrecked Women in the Bible. She has recently finished her first book – Like a Sweet Fragrance – and is enjoying her latest endeavor, blogging, where she has posted several chapters of her book as well as daily devotionals.  Additionally, she serves as secretary on the board of Manna of God which benefits AIDS victims in Africa. For the past several years, God has graciously given her opportunities to speak to women’s groups in the area, which she does with great joy.

Becky says most of what she has learned has been the hard way – making wrong choices, refusing to be obedient, and not trusting God; however, God never quit calling, guiding, and reassuring her that she was loved as his child, and that’s her life’s message:  We are the beautiful, cherished, and loved children of the Most High God.

Life-long residents of Bellville, Becky and her husband, Ian, grew up together and have been married for 35 years. They have been blessed with two wonderful sons, Reid and Will, and one darling daughter-in-law, Melissa.
